Is it possible for us all to boycott Valentine’s day this year? I am not against love or anything like that but I just feel like the true meaning of the day is misunderstood and misused. It has become more of a commercialised celebration. Love in itself has been redefined and all people expect on the day is exchange of gifts, sex and what not. To me it’s just a façade. The expression of love is an everyday thing not just a day of a month or a particular month. If you show love only or mostly on 14th February or go out of your way to make someone feel good only on Valentine’s then you are a hypocrite, oh yeah I said it. Ridiculous things and expectations come to life on Valentine’s day which is so annoying. As for me, Valentine’s day is off my calendar. No pun intended, just my honest opinion.
