I SURRENDER NOT

I could raise up my hands and say I have had enough,
I could take in a deep breathe and sigh,
I could let go and leave all to chance,
It’s been a long rough ride,
It’s been speed bumps and roadblocks,
It’s been one hell of a roller coaster ride.
I could surrender.

Played all my best cards,
Run through option A to Z,
If the turn tables could really turn!
Is a magic wand really real?
At the roll of a dice,
Can I start over?
I could surrender.

I have had it up to here,
Pressed down, shaking together and running over,
Like when it rains, it pours.
I could surrender but I rather not.
I could throw in the towel but that would be too easy.
I truly believe there is light at the end of the tunnel.
I believe in happy endings.

I surrender not,
Not to guilt, no to shame, not to pain.
I surrender not,
There is a happily ever after.
I surrender not,
I live to fight another day.
I SURRENDER NOT!
