Consistency is a word we hear a lot—from coaches, mentors, and motivational speakers.
But what many don’t tell you about consistency is this:
- Consistency starts internally. It begins with your thoughts, shows up in your words, and must be proven by your actions.
- Consistency is painful. Showing up on days you don’t feel motivated is one of the hardest disciplines to build.
- Consistency requires sacrifice. Comfort has to be traded for commitment. You can’t have both.
- Consistency is not perfection. You don’t need to have it all figured out. Consistency simply asks you to show up as you are—again and again. With each effort to do better and be better, you move closer to mastery. And that progress is the reward for the pain and sacrifice.
As I once read somewhere: everything is hard—you just have to choose your hard.
